On Saturday, October 22, the ICA will hold its 25th Annual Fall Auction. Reserve your seats early - this ICA signature event is one of the most exciting, fun-filled evenings of the year. This is your chance to fall head-over-heels in love with a piece of contemporary art and take it home with you and support the ICA's exhibitions and programs at the same time. Have the thrill of discovering a promising work by an up-and-coming artist or add a masterwork to your collection by an established artist. More than 125 of the finest Bay Area artists, representing a wide range of expression, generously donate a piece of their artwork to be sold in a live auction. Media include painting, sculpture, printmaking, photography, and electronic art. This is a wonderful opportunity for collectors to view a wide variety of artists and make an acquisition in a non-stressful, fun environment. Artists who have donated work to this year's auction include: Manuel Neri, Robert Brady, Monroe Hodder, Jim Campbell, Hung Liu, Sam Richardson adn Kim Frohsin, among many others. Bidders will have the chance to view the work starting with an opening reception on Friday, September 30. The exhibition is a concentrated survey of contemporary Bay Area talent and the show will be on view until the auction on October 22nd. Absentee bids are available in the gallery. Doors open at 6:00pm on auction night with the live auction beginning promptly at 7:00pm. Back for a repeat performance, our auctioneer extraordinaire, Steve Martin, will bring his quick wit, sharp eye, and "gavelocity" to the night's revelries. To help you keep your strength (and your bids) up, some of San Jose's finest restaurant restaurants - Il Fornaio, Eulipia, Paolo's, Bella Mia, E & O Trading, PF Chang's, McCormick and Schmick's, Emile's - are providing gourmet hors d'oeuvres for your pleasure. And, of course, complimentary wine courtesy of Woodward/Graff Family Vineyards and champagne will flow throughout the evening. Auction tickets are $35 for ICA Members and $45 for non-members. As always, a 20% discount applies on tickets purchased before October 22nd. Consider upgrading your membership level - our $120 Investor level members and above receive 2 free tickets! All proceeds benefit the ICA's ongoing exhibition and educational programming. Call (408) 283-8155 for tickets today. Looking forward to seeing you there! |
