Terry Thompson: Neon Nights

March 22 - July 31, 2005

Neon Nights features Thompson’s neon assemblages inspired by urban neon signage. In this presentation, three of Thompson’s assemblages will illuminate and electrify the ICA’s rear window in an intersection of fine art, sign making and sculpture constructed with found as well as custom neon lights. Thompson enjoys making an amalgam of such distinct media by allowing one to influence the other in his abstracted constructions. With his background in electrical and industrial technology, Thompson has a natural affinity for incorporating technical and electric elements into his art making.

Neon Nights is part of the ICA's new media installation series, "Night Moves," providing after-dark programming in the gallery's front and rear windows.
