Talking Art is a series of salon-style discussions about art - making it, appreciating it, and collecting it. These gatherings are intended to demystify the art world and provide for a meaningful exchange of ideas while surrounded by the changing exhibitions at the San Jose ICA.

The Print Center
The ICA now has a print center with quarterly Artist-in-Residency (AIR), workshops and private instruction. Join Director Fanny Retsek along with the print center's current AIR's to discuss printmaking, collaboration and creativity.

Art Outside the Gallery: Making Art Public Art
While some may say all art is public art, what happens when artists make work that exists outside gallery walls and in the real world? How does seeing art in a public venue change the way we see our environment? This panel will explore public art, whether temporary, site specific, permanent or ephemeral.

urators, art dealers, teachers and artists will provide 20-minute individual critiques of artists' portfolios. Each artist will have two critiques.

You are only eligible to participate in ONE pf the summer portfolio reviews. These are special closed sessions. Only ICA members who have pre-registered my attend. Registration begins May 8, 2008 at 10:00 AM. Cost: $25.
